The Henry E. Wyble Historic Research Library and Education Center houses an extensive collection of books dealing with WWII, WWI, and the Vietnam, Korean, Middle East, and Persian Gulf wars. It also contains a comprehensive video library, large-screen theater and numerous model collections.
The Wyble Library, which officially opened in April 2007, is located in one of the historic WWII buildings at Millville Airport and is part of the MAAFM (Millville Army Air Field Museum).
As a member of ENCORE, the Library provides public Internet access to collections on site and at three other libraries in Cumberland County — Millville, Vineland and Bridgeton Public Libraries.
The Millville Army Air Field Museum encourages historic research work utilizing the many resources of the Wyble Library. High school and college students, along with teachers and historians, are invited to work on their special research projects and papers at the Museum’s Library. Our staff is available to provide assistance.
The Library also serves as home for the P-47 Thunderbolt Advocates, individuals and special interest groups who continue to promote the history and significance of the Thunderbolt pursuit/fighter plane that made history both at Millville and throughout the European and Pacific theatres during WWII.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 4pm. The Library, which is available for meetings of up to 50 people, can also be opened on weekends upon special request, and for tours.
The Henry E. Wyble Historic Research Library and Education Center is located at 23 Peterson Street, Millville Airport, Millville, NJ 08332. For more information contact the MAAFM at (856) 327-2347.
